Base range scale should be 1px = 100km for ease of reference for the Earth/Moon system.
This gives:
Earth a radius of 6400km = 64px (128px sprite).
Moon 1700km = 17px (34px on a 48px sprite?) and 380,000km orbit = 3800px away (zoom out to fit)
Earth Sphere of Influence is about 900,000km (9,000px room?)
Lunar SOI is about 66,000km so should take over from Earth at 660px distance.
Geosynchronous (and Geostationary) Orbits (GEO) are at 42,000km (420px)
Earth only:
At the above scale LEO (240km) would be at 64px+2.4px which is too close for visualising so we need some different rooms.
For Earth and LEO only 1px = 10km would work, so a 1280px sprite with LEO 24px above, and GEO at 4200px (4500px room?)
Moon:
340px on 480px sprite at 1px=10km?
Low Lunar Orbit (LLO) is 100km. at 440px (Room 7000px due SOI at 66,000km = 6600px)
This is same room scale as Earth above.
Long-term project plan:
-Eventually, other planets/asteroids gets tricky with distances relative to Sun as follows; Venus 108 million km, Earth 150 million km, Mars 230 million km, asteroids 300-500 million km, Jupiter 778 million km.
