Added these as 3 commits to make review a bit easier.
yarn.lock appears to have been added accidentally since everything uses npm instead, so I've removed it as it does nothing other than add to confusion for new contributors
npm install currently needs to add to the lock file since modern npm tracks more info than was needed at the time. The changes to the package-lock.json should be non-breaking and essentially just lock in the default path to reduce risk of divergence from different environments. The changes here are purely the result of running npm install with npm version 9.2.0.
Lastly, I added a very small description of the build process. A lot of it (such as watch and test) don't work for me yet since I'm not on Linux, but I figured I could describe the parts that I have been using.
