Allow us to control the search input field if required, to provided default searches etc.

Also, the search fields currently isn't cleared after clicking a value. This is annoying, and could be solved if we had access to this field.

You have made many relevant and useful points for this package. If you can find the time, you can do a PR. In the meantime, we are doing everything in our power to resolve the issues as quickly as possible.
