Problem statement

• Target audience: ecommerce merchants and consumers who have flow nfts
• Token gated commerce is where access to products is locked to token holders, this could be early access, limited edition or nft holder only benefits. Merch stores who want to token gate their merch for nft members, have no easy way to do this with shopify.

Proposed solution

Impact

• In what ways does this benefit the broader Flow developer ecosystem? This adds additional utility to tokens with loyalty programs and reward/redemptions. We already have a shopify app that supports EVM; we are getting inbound interest to add flow in addition to EVM chain

hi @zxed. it seems like this grant is designed to add a feature to taco.xyz. Would you be open to pivot and create a general Shopify FLOW plugin that any developer could use? If not, we may suggest you check out other project support opportunities on the ecosystem page.

@alxflw would you happen to have a flow plugin example that I can reference, or do you mean a lib/sdk other devs can use in their Shopify apps? We can certainly take the bits we need to make our app with flow and make that its own package and release that as an open source plugin; it'll take a bit more work to make sure it's usable by others, but can certainly do this.

yea, that is what we wanted to explore. I'm not too familiar with Shopify extensions and how it could be done, so would rely on your research/understanding.
