feature request: unit tests! #24

The lack of tests makes it somewhat difficult to contribute to this repo because I'm worried that by changing things, I'd be breaking other things :(

Hi, conradhappeliv . Sorry for not answering for a long time, at the moment there is no opportunity to deal with issues related to the project. Perhaps in the next month I will check all the comments and suggestions.
