'All images' folder a bit misleading #20

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open up Image Manager

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When making new folders and uploading images to those folders, the new
images do not show up when you select the 'All images' folder. I believe
that folder was originally named 'General', correct? I'm guessing it's not
supposed to list all images regardless of which folder they are under. The
name 'All images' is just a bit misleading unless it's a bug and all images
are supposed to show up when selecting that folder.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.
You are doing great work btw, saving me tons of time :).
Thanks!

Thanks for the bug report.

This is indeed a bug, it should be displaying all images when you click on the
folder
'All images'. The 'All images' is not actually actually a folder, I call it a
'Smart
folder'.
I agree this is misleading, I need to think of the terminology of this
'folder'. For
example, when you are uploading the image, the folder list contains a 'General'
folder. I'm thinking of changing that to 'No folder' (or something on those
lines),
or just remove it.
I will be working on TinyCIMM quite a bit today, and I really appreciates your
bug
reports, they are a big help for me. Thanks :)

You are very welcome! Thank you for fixing them so quickly :).
The 'All images' folder wouldn't be misleading if it did indeed show all the
images
as it's supposed to :). As for the 'General' folder, ya I saw that too. If
you are
going to have that folder, I would still list it in the folder list. Be
something like:
- All Images
- General <-- This is where images go if no custom folder was selected.
- Custom_Folder_1
- Custom_Folder_2

Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your suggestions. I've decided to replace the 'General' folder
with
'(none)' in the upload form. Also, 'All images' actually displays all images. ;)
