Remove highlight_exists/lookup_color/load_colors functions & color scheme files

Hiya!

I figured it'd be worth smaller iterative changes to avoid a giant request.

Tests are passing, but do take a look and add comments.

I plan on spending some more time continuing to rip out color code. Let me know if there is anything I should be thinking about keeping.
