Relicense/ Dual-License #31

Thanks for writing this! Would you consider relicensing/dual licensing to a MIT/BSD/Apache license? We would like to use it for a project at work (and I'd be glad to contribute any fixes back), but there was some concern about the MS-PL license.

Thanks again!

Hi, Could you tell me which part you don't like/is blocking in the MS-PL license?

msingle commented 6 years ago

I was told there's some concern over 3(D)

If you distribute any portion of the software in source code form, you may do so only under this license by including a complete copy of this license with your distribution. If you distribute any portion of the software in compiled or object code form, you may only do so under a license that complies with this license.”

We actually are going to use this on a backend service so we shouldn't have to worry about distribution (as source or binary), but I'm just trying to make sure legal is happy (especially about using open source).

Thanks.

Main primary concerns about this project are:

  1. this project is useful to others people
  2. preventing someone from claiming ownership in my place

So I'm agree to switch to MIT to let more people use this project with less worries. This changes is now immediately effective.
