[bug] The title will automatically delete the text #53

The problem here is that the plugin is trying to guess at what part of each heading is the number and what part is the text itself. In this case, there's no way to tell that "1929" is not the number of the heading.

I can't find a good way to solve this that doesn't break other heading renumbering.

I fix to use in this case would be to start your headings with some text. Like "Year" in your case maybe. Sorry this doesn't solve the underlying problem :(

You can try not to put spaces around the hyphen, it may help.
