installed
through Cydia

Could you give your parameters without pwd ?
Do you use WiFi or 3g ?

I put all my settings in then i open the app, i can see the dial pad for about
7-10
seconds then its just goes back to the springboard (connected via wifi)
also when im not connected to my network the app will open without crashing.

I'd like to work on your problem. But I don't have this problem with my all
accounts (7).
Could you give me your parameters (again) without pwd ? Like that I will try if
I can
reproduce the problem, and correct them.
Thank you for your help

The SIP account is a local network asterisk account (sip:852@10.25.9.10).
The problem occurs using wifi, 3G, VPN, wifi only (airplane mode + wifi), I
tried all
possible combinations.
I don't think the crash is due to the settings. You could send me test settings
to
double check that.
Original comment by pascal.f...@gmail.com

Did you try just this ?
Username: 825
server : 10.25.9.10
With the last version 2.0.5, it shouldn't crash.
Original comment by samuelv0...@gmail.com
on 18 Feb 2009 at 8:12
That is how it is currently configured.
Again it seems to crash before even being able to connect.
I tried iTalk and it is working with those settings.
Original comment by pascal.f...@gmail.com

Nothing is reaching the server, nothing showing up on the asterisk console with
maximum verbosity.
On a Wiresharp capture, the only things I see coming from the iPhone are MDNS
queries.

Me too... it goes on for about 7 seconds and I can't touch any buttons or
anything.
It just freezes. I have a account on asterisk (ID=sungminseo) but I don't know
how to
get the server name. Is it 10.25.9.10? If it is, I tried it. Please help me!

I don't know if this is going to help any but I have the same issue.
iPod touch 2G running 2.2.1
Dlink DIR-655
MagicJack SIP account
my DNS server in the router is set to 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 rest is DHCP
The reason I mention the router is because I've connected through my WM6 phone
using
WMWifiRouter, several Linksys routers, etc...without a hitch. Although, I have
a SIP
app running on my Macbook witht he same SIP account running through the Dlink,
and it
works fine. I don't know what other information I could contribute. Let me know.

Just a small update, using those DNS Servers (because of a hacked modem)...it
doesn't
allow it to log in. But, using OpenDNS servers, it took a millisecond to login
and
everything is fine.
Original comment by Rams...@gmail.com

I can confirm that this problem exists with a DLink DIR-655. With my iPhone
using
the DIR-655 as the DNS server, Siphon starts, immediately hangs, and dies. When
I
manually configure the iPhone to use another DNS server, Siphon operates
normally.
Original comment by jeremy.l...@gmail.com

same here, i got DIR 655 and also cant connect local or through dyndns.com. It
all
worked before with older version but not with the new one. The app just opens
for 7
seconds and then throws me back to springboard
Original comment by skyne...@gmail.com
on 23 Feb 2009 at 1:13
In addition to my earlier comment #14, my Siphon config was set to use an IP
address
for the voip server, but the DIR-655 DNS server was still interfering and
causing
the app to hang and crash.

Skynet01, try using OpenDNS servers if you can, just to see if they work, I'm
currently using those and it literally takes less than a second for it to work.
The
only thing I find weird is, when using my old DNS servers, and using X-Lite for
Mac,
same credentials, same router, it would go on, only the touch wouldn't work. But
after changing the DNS it worked fine on the touch and continued to work on the
X-Lite program.

Awesome, I'm glad it worked, hopefully Samuel (Project Owner) will look into
it. I
just tried changing them to another set of DNS servers, and it stopped working.
I
hope this discovery helps solve this issue, this app is better than any I've
seen for
the Touch.

You don't have to use OpenDNS. If you fill static DNS from your ISP Siphon will
start
working too.

Good call, on the iPod you could change the DNS to anyone you want and it
works...for
instance, by using 64.81.79.2 on my router, Siphon won't connect (when it's
using my
router's 192.168.1.1 dns), but I changed it to 64.81.79.2 on my iPod, and it
logged
in just fine.
So recap
If on my router I have the dns set to 64.81.79.2, and I let the iPod get
everything
from my router it gets 192.168.1.1 for dns and Siphon doesn't work.
If on my router I have the dns set to 64.81.79.2, and I have the 64.81.79.2 on
the
iPod as well, it works just fine...

I originally opened this issue as 103, but that issue was marked Fixed when I
still
have the same problem. I'm seeing the same behavior, even if I change my DNS
server
to a non-local one. Just like the bug title, Siphon freezes immediately and no
log
file is written out. I would be happy to help troubleshoot the issue further,
but I
can't debug the app and there are no log file.

i am having the same issue as well my log file shows the following:
210 pjsua_core.c Nameserver must be configured when stun_domain is specified
14:54:07.210 pjsua_core.c Error resolving STUN server: No nameserver is in DNS
resolver (PJLIB_UTIL_EDNSNONS) [status=320045]
I am running iphone firmware v2.2 with the latest siphon from Cydia with a SIP
account that i have from my voip provider.
I have tried changing my DNS server still no luck. Please help!

You don't have the same issue, because you've got a log file ;-)
I think you define stun domain parameter and not stun server.
Could you :
- duplicate parameter between stun server and stun domain
- move parameter from tun domain to stun server (or vice versa)
Original comment by samuelv0...@gmail.com
on 5 Apr 2009 at 2:24
i've tried all possible scenarios as per your response, below are the results
stun domain+stun server= No nameserver is in DNS resolver same as above
stun domain only= same error No nameserver
stun server = "pjsua_core.c Error contacting STUN server: Received no response
from
STUN server (PJLIB_UTIL_ESTUNNOTRESPOND) [status=320010]"
every combination gives an error, with only the STUN server it seems to work
the best.
let me know thanks in advance

I don't know if this belongs here, so I am sorry if this is the wrong place.
I had the same crashes after about 7 seconds, when I was on 3g, but not when I
was on
wifi (v2.0.7 on an iphone 2.2.0). after a while I found out it had to do with a
missing network connection: when I checked my mail and immediatly after that
clicked
on siphon the whole thing worked. so for me it seems as if siphone 'forgets' to
open
a network connection. i hope this helps.

I got this problem now too, siphon was working fine with version 2.0.7, but
updated
to 2.0.8 and now its crashing after about 7 to 10 seconds, no messages come up
and it
just goe back to the springboard !

Don't know if this is the same bug or a different one, but I get this same
behavior
when I have a STUN server set, but I can connect fine if this is left blank.
In my
case, the relevant error from the log file is
stun_msg.c Error parsing STUN attribute RESERVATION-TOKEN: Invalid STUN
attribute
length (PJNATH_ESTUNINATTRLEN)
natck0x860400 STUN msg_decode() error: Invalid STUN attribute length
(PJNATH_ESTUNINATTRLEN)
This happens both in Test II and Test III (which crashes - see full log file
attached). The STUN server and general set-up works fine with other SIP clients
(e.g., siax, x-lite).

Not sure if it's the same problem, but I used to have everything nicely playing
when I
was on 3.0 in my 3Gs. I upgraded to 3.1.2 and re-installed Siphon. Now Siphon
does not
work over 3G and works only when I'm on Wifi. When I launch it on 3G network,
it just
shows the dialpad, all buttons are disabled, after 7 seconds, it crashes and
screen
returns to springboard. No log file is created.

I installed latest version of Siphon from Cydia yesterday. it worked
perfectly....
But today when i again tried to make call using siphon, application launched and
freezes immediately and after some time automatically it quits.
Catch: I am only using wifi.. and when i switch off wifi and starts Siphon, it
gets
started and saying no service available (my SIP provider service which is
ata.nymgo.com) also keypad is active. when i switch on wifi application freezes
and
quits automatically.
I used fring to check if my SIP provider is avaiable and found that was
perfectly
working...
I remember, i updated mobilesubstrate from cydia. not sure if this has created
this
problem. i tried uninstalling mobilesubstrate and siphon and again installed
siphon
but no luck
