Plugin does not run due to an error when trying to "Merge text styles..."

I purchased the plugin and registered my key. Next, I tried the "Merge text styles with the same name" option to merge some duplicated text styles. The macOS wheel appeared for some seconds, and nothing happened.

If I choose "Merge Text Styles (From List)," the window pops up and shows similar text styles, but once I select one and try to merge again, wheel for some seconds, and nothing happens.

I looked at the logs, and any action ends with a 'License validation issue.'

I don't know how to solve this.

I'm sorry you're having a bad experience with Merge Duplicates. We'll make our best to address it as soon as possible.

It feels like you may have found a bug in the plugin. However, I'm afraid we can't reproduce the issue you describe with our testing set 🙈 . Could you please send us a Sketch file you can reproduce it with?

All files are and will remain confidential, but if you don't feel like sharing your original file (and related libraries), please duplicate your files and remove anything that you don't feel comfortable sharing. As long as the plugin issue still occurs when working with the "simplified" file, we should be able to reproduce it as well.

Thank you for your quick response!

Unfortunately, I cannot share the original file. However, I figured out it only happens in that specific file. On other smaller ones, it does work as expected. It must be something within an artboard that it doesn't like. I used some emojis for the page names, but that wasn't the issue.

I'll keep trying and narrowing it down to see if I can find what makes it break. If I figure it out, I'll let you know.

If you happen to narrow it down to a point where you feel comfortable sharing the file with us just let us know, and we will test it on our side as well.

The issue you describe doesn't seem to be related to naming or emojis. Rather, it seems related to tints, or tint overrides on instances. May that be your case, or help narrow down the issue?

@oodesign I sent you a Sketch file with the item causing the issue through the link you shared. I could figure out what was the layer (in this case, symbol) making it break, and I've made a simple Sketch file with only that symbol, in case you want to reproduce the issue and see what's going on there 😄

Not a problem anymore for me, as I replaced that symbol with a newly created one (and less complex), but I thought you would be interested in checking this.

Update: Sorry for the previous communication. We don't seem to be able to reproduce the issue with "Merge text styles (from list)", but looks like we're able to reproduce it with "Merge text styles with the same name".

Hopefully it may be enough to trace what the issue is and be able to release a fix for it soon.
