What steps will reproduce the problem?
max@max-Satellite-P100:~$ xcompmgr -n
No composite extension
even if I have installed xcompmgr as results also by package manager
max@max-Satellite-P100:~$ ardesia --verbose

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
nothing happens
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
ardesia 1.1-1
max@max-Satellite-P100:~$ uname --all
Linux max-Satellite-P100 3.16.0-28-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Fri Dec 12 17:38:37
UTC 2014 i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux
any idea how to sort out the problem?
