EPE-18 Review design of LLB editor/wizard

Notes from 1/13/15 Don’t start updates until we get clarification from Sage after discussing with Janice and Carrie.

Ready for Development updates, but Joe to discuss with Allan issues of jumping to the last tab in the “save” mode:

• Add the word “Step:” to the “Return to” and “Continue to”
• Button on bottom should read “Next Step” and follow the next / prev navigation of the blue bar
• Three buttons (shown at top and bottom):
• • “Save” means stay here (in LLB on this tab) in edit mode and save it.
• • “Cancel” doesn’t save changes, and returns you to the details page or tool home page.
• • “View Investigation” means save it and go to the details page. If LLB, go to the first page of the lesson in student mode.

Notes from Sage 6/14/16 1) Looks like this is already done. 2) Not sure what this means. 3) Not sure what this means. 4) Save currently takes you to the front-end. 5) Cancel takes you to the homepage, both when creating a new resrouce and when editing an existing one 6) Do all users see the "View/Edit/Manage Display" toolbar or just admins? If so, I would suggest taking it away and putting the View button with the other Save/Cancel ones. Also, if we're going to make it save, would should have have it say "Save and View". Currently when you click view it doesn't save, and it doesn't warn you either. It would also be nice if it took you to the same tab on the front end that you were editing on.

From Sage 8/24/16 For the most part, I think this has been implemented. However, there are still some other tweaks.

A few issues with the LLB editor...

• The Save and Cancel buttons are on top of each other on the create page. (note the view/edit tab bar does not show up on this view, and the "Help with..." link is crammed in the upper right.)
• When editing an existing resource, the Cancel button still redirects to the site homepage. (This is okay behavior for new creations.)
• The View/Edit toolbar does show up for all users. Can this be easily removed? (see above)
• Rename "Save As" to "Save as New"

Still issues...

• The view as new button seems to save a new instance, while the save as new just saves the current version. Also, it appears that the "View Investigation" button's functionality (when the buttons are fixed button) may just the same as "Save." That is, it saves and then shows the student view. Is Save supposed to save the lesson and stay on the form? If they're the same function, let's combine the buttons to "Save and View"
• I'm getting a lot of "The content on this page has either been modified by another user, or you have already submitted modifications using this form. As a result, your changes cannot be saved." This happens when I navigate back to the form after viewing the student view, but given the weird actions of the buttons, I also got it a few times just playing with them.
• For some reason, now even the student view is corrupting the Edit url so you can't actually edit the lesson. You have to go to the detail page to click that button.
• I'm getting weird behavior with the textarea boxes. If you click at the end of one, and then hit return, it actually adds the newline to the top of the box.
• Also, this is not this issue, but i'm getting a lot of errors on the detail page, which I think have to do with the related items. in addition, the list of related items is just a bunch of no image thumbs, with no titles or authors (but "By:" is displayed). And there is some weird indenting with each subsequent row. And they don't appear to be links either.
• Also, on the detail page, it displays "9 reads" underneath the intro text, but this is now redundant with your statistics section. (Did you add this to EV or CM or other resources?)

On the last comment above, I now see the stats box on images and CMs, but not EVs.

I combined the view investigation button & save button into save & view button as suggested I have not seen the error you experienced, is there a step to reproduce it?

on your not seeing stats on EV, I got it confused, I need to modify the code to reflect that.

• Still getting the annoying behavior with the textarea boxes.
• "Is Copy From" should be "Parent Resource" and "Copies" should be "Adapted Resources"
• Still getting a lot of errors on the detail page for resources that have related ones. See for example http://epedev.ooi.rutgers.edu/node/300
• Also still getting blank related resources, e.g. no thumbnail and no title text. I think these non-public resources are still being outputted by the for loop.
