In the section about altering documents as they are added (https://github.com/oortcloud/unofficial-meteor-faq/#how-can-i-alter-every-document-before-it-is-added-to-the-database), perhaps link to this gist: https://gist.github.com/matb33/5258260 as a temporary solution until Meteor offers a solution... or you write a smart package that does all this and better ;-)
