What problem are we trying to solve?

The formula used to calculate the redistribution of dollars from "rich" Texas public school districts to "poor" ones is inscrutable. We aim to both shed a light on how this all works, and allow users to reconfigure the distribution themselves.

Who will benefit (directly and indirectly) from this project?

Anyone who lives in the State of Texas.

We'll bring the data with us to the meet-up. The Trib has an excellent set of articles on the topic here.

What are the next steps (validation, research, coding, design)?

We've worked up a comprehensive data set that captures all of the information needed to build an interface. Next up: Design.

What help is needed at this time?

We need help coming up with the design of an interface that will be published at AustinMonitor.com.
