The definition of brain regions #45

If there are such drastic differences when creating "regions" of the brain, is there a way to compare and reconcile two completely different partitionings (like the horizontal and vertical one) within one experiment?

If two conflicting partitionings are observed under two separate hypotheses, then either or both hypotheses are probably false. Maybe we need better ways to collect data that can shed light into some unified and consistent hypothesis that can explain both partitions.

yup. how would you do it?

how would you decide which partitioning was better, given perfect data?
