Roadmap and Documentation #29

Open jankapunkt opened 6 years ago

jankapunkt commented 6 years ago

Hi there,

I am interested in contributing to this project but it would require a roadmap of future features and a deeper documentation.

Also another question - is this project intended to become a standard? We are facing the problem of a growing infrastructure of tools (e.g. using LTI as auth and exchange interface) which are used in our OER but there seems to be no standard yet.

This project has the most promising potential to me at the moment, so please let me know what are your plans and requirements for further development.

@jankapunkt I missed your comment last month, thanks for the interest. I hear you on the infrastructure issues. We are currently working through tweaks to better align the schema with schema.org's new educational schema (created after we started the project) and LRMI schema. This project is intended to become standard and we hope to help make transportable and remixable OER possible and trivially easy. Phil just opened some recent issues to help move things along, feel free to chime in or contribute to those. The roadmap is still developing, but we do intend to integrate with content authoring tools and LMS tools such as: HAX, OCX.

@jankapunkt To follow up, a near future challenge you could contribute development to is integrating the schema with HAX so we can easily write course content wired with schema, and licensed. It's an API/plugin driven authoring tool that reads/writes structured html: https://github.com/LRNWebComponents/hax-body
