How should we aid discoverability of BLDS files? #64

If the minimum bar for providing BLDS is going to be a web-accessible CSV file, we should discuss ways to make those files more discoverable and ideally machine-discoverable.

One option, and a good minimum bar, would be to recommend that publishers also provide a Project Open Data's Data.JSON file that points at their BLDS CSV file.

Thoughts?

This is a really good topic for discussion. Probably lots of options for enhancing visibility.

As we figure out the best way to make BLDS data discoverable, an easy way to enhance discoverability would be to list all publicly available data on the permitdata.org site (if the datasets are publicly available by the data producer).

Listing available datasets there will also help with outreach and advocacy. Any chance you could update that page and link to the Seattle, Boston and Fort Worth data sets?
