We've been using slackin on heroku for awhile - it works well for us.
It seems that slackin is used by the borojs slack channels in New York and the Open Design channels.
One question that was brought up is - is it too early in the development for us to automate this? Right now it's invite - only so it's pretty much exclusively contributors, while we figure out the format for all of this.
I use Slackin for the Picturefill project and the RICG; so far so good.
Up to you, I mean if you plan on bringing on more than 100 users then you definitely want it.
Will this still live in the Bocoup Community Slack team, or will there be a separate one now?
We should move to a new Slack space now, good point @mjchamplin
I wonder - should we make a new Slack team - open design kit or should we make a new channel within another team, such as the Open Design Foundation?
@iamjessklein whatever works, but you are always welcome on the Open Design Foundation. What name would you like for the channel?
Thanks @GarthDB - I would make it #opendesignkit
@pamela-drouin @mjchamplin @susanjrobertson - if you are for or against this change, please "vote" with a 👍 or 👎 emoji reaction.
@jess I don't have a lot of feelings on this, so do whatever you think will work best.
Ok I've added a channel to the Open Design Foundation Slack Channel.
Please join the channel at #opendesignkit

Closing this issue now as the channel is up and running.
As per various conversations in Slack, we need to figure out a simple way to invite people to join the Slack channel to collaborate on the project.
These have been suggested as implementation options:
