Adding Dutch #30

Would it be possible to add Dutch? At the Dutch Language Institute (www.ivdnt.org) we might be able to provide you with the right data (just need to check some licenses)

dohliam commented 2 years ago

@VincentCCL That would be amazing! Let me know if you need any assistance with preparing the data for inclusion.

VincentCCL commented 2 years ago

I let you know once we've compiled a first list in IPA.

@VincentCCL I would very much welcome the inclusion of Dutch here! To my knowledge there is nothing equivalent available for Dutch currently...

VincentCCL commented 1 year ago

Thanks for the reminder - I'll pick this up again -- sorry for the delay, it's been busy ;-)

VincentCCL commented 1 year ago

You can download the Dutch ipa codes from [here http://www.ccl.kuleuven.be/~vincent/ccl/nl_ipa.txt] Note that these are automatically converted from another form of phonetic transcriptions and are not hand-checked. A hand-checked version is in preparation but this may take a while before being made publicly available, so therefore we make this list available as is, without any guarantees of correctness.

Thanks a lot, this is very helpful!

@VincentCCL Thanks for following through on this! Just adding the data to the repo now -- may I ask what license this is being released under?

VincentCCL commented 1 year ago

I'll have to inquire -- get back to you asap.

dohliam commented 1 year ago

@VincentCCL Any progress on this? The data is ready to go, we just need a license to be able to include it.

VincentCCL commented 1 year ago

I've put it on the agenda for a meeting this week -- hope to give you a definitive answer.

VincentCCL commented 1 year ago

Apparently, everyone is quick in responding today ;-)

@VincentCCL Fantastic! Thank you. :+1: The Dutch data has now been added, and I have included the information you posted above in the credits section of the Readme. Once the new repo has been created please let me know and I will add a link to it as well so people can provide corrections and suggestions there!
