After some testing I figured out that the ZKN:omschrijving field of StUF-ZDS messages gets filled from the internal name of a form in OpenForms In the StUF-ZDS message: In Verseon (zaaksysteem):

It would be nice if this field could:

Be a separate field, so the internal name and subject could be set independently and
If it could contain variables, so that the subject field could be filled with specific information from the form

Added value / Toegevoegde waarde

To be able to distinguish between a forms internal name and subject, and to provide a more relevant / descriptive subject field to BE systems and their users

I can't estimate if this is doable for 2.1 since there is already overlap. Assigning @sergei-maertens to assess or move to 2.2.

Let's not half-ass this and instead do it properly during 2.2

The whole concept of mapping components to registration attributes is from the Before Variables Times :tm: and instead we should:

introduce mapping variables to registration attributes (configurable per plugin?)
refactor the plugins/registration mechanism to source the configuration from new mechanism
add a data migration for existing component registration configuration to the new system
keep the registration tab but point/document to the new system
