In another PR, I'd like to get together an emeritus status to thank Chris and other maintainers on the project.
Let's add @csand-msft to emeritus maintainers in this same PR, so it's not removal but a move to a different category.
On a related note, since #119 is already merged, we can make a follow-up PR for that one to add @chrispat to emeritus too.
Thanks to everyone who helped get the GitOps Working Group and Open GitOps project started. I have enjoyed working with the other initiators and know that the project will move forward successfully in the hands of enthusiastic and intelligent folks. GitOps is proving to be a valuable step forward in the management of workloads and infrastructure and I am positive about its evolution. Best wishes to all!

Chris Sanders is one of the founding maintainers of the GitOps Working Group and the Open GitOps project, he has not only contributed materially to our standards and project but also represented Open GitOps at conferences and other events. We are grateful for his work. Chris has shared with me that after a successful career he is planning to retire this month and will shift his focus to other activities. As such, he is planning to step down.
