It should be possible to compile from centos 7, but since travis.com changed its plans it's not tested anymore. check the centos 7 section here to see how it was done. Centos 7 is the oldest distribution we support and it's with a lot of workarounds. Centos 8 is highly recommended. https://github.com/open-license-manager/licensecc/blob/develop/.travis.yml
