Our brief vision statement draft shared during Week 02 cohort call: google doc log

LA-CoNGA physics mission is the creation of a Latin-American-European Virtual Research and Learning Community in the field of Advanced Physics to promote the values of collaboration, open education and open research in institutes from Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. We will train a new generation of scientists in Latin-America through a one-year master level specialization program that focuses on three pillars of knowledge: theoretical physics, instrumentation in experimental design and data science. We will build a diverse collaborative network that allows the students to access tools, equipment, and know-how that would otherwise not be available.

@malvikasharan I am having problem to edit this issue. I can comment but I can not edit the issue itself. @mxrtinez tried to assign it to me without success. Can you please help us? Thanks a lot in advance and wish you a nice day!

Hi, your vision sounds ambitious and exciting (in a good way)! You mention that you will train "a new generation of scientists", maybe this could be more specific to clarify who you'll work with (undergraduate students interested in doing a masters? graduate students already enrolled in a masters?).

I like how you stated the problem and the solution in the open canvas. You mention citizen science projects and hackathons in resources required, which sounds like they could be their own projects. How are these related to the advanced physics learning community?

Saludos desde México!
