This is us!: https://github.com/biobankinguk/biobankinguk
This is our original vision statement, I'm going to rework it using the Hemingway editor
We are working with software vendors and biobanks to make an API so that biobanks with large datasets can register in the UKCRC Tissue Directory automatically. We are working open because we want biobanks to have appropriate technical guidance and resources to be able to access and implement the API.
I know, I feel your pain! π Although, I don't think the goal is to get every word past the editor. If there are words you just can't see yourself not using then I think it's fine to go ahead and use them (for example, the name of a research programme got flagged in mine!), but try to be more flexible where you do have the potential.
Thanks, I think they are both really useful in different ways - the hemingway editor I will probably use to draft all our blog posts in. this is my reworked version:
We are working with biobanks and software vendors. We are helping the biobanks upload key information onto a national directory. This key information is about the samples and data they hold. This will make it easier for researchers to find them. We are working open because we want our resources to be as useful as possible!
See, I personally don't like this rework - the sentences feel too short and I'm reading it like a robot in my head π€
Your content is good! But in your last sentence, can you dig a little more into exactly what it is about working openly that will improve your resources?
Haha yes, this is what happens when Jessica and I write for SEO...
Working openly will allow us to get up to date feedback and engagement with the biobanking community. By collaborating and co-producing services, materials and resources we will ensure they meet the communities needs.
Fantastic! β¨
