Draft vision statement:

We develop browser-applications for researchers to answer questions regarding research metadata, such as “is my research cited in clinical trials”. Commercial applications offer these insights as well, but they are costly and closed systems, contradicting the premise of open science. Luckily, more and more open databases and services are being established; however, these offer only generic dashboards that do not answer the questions that individuals might have. We want to offer an alternative platform that involves researchers in the process. The goal of our project is therefore twofold: 1) create a set of tools as a starting point for discussion and reference; 2) create a development workflow that makes it easy for researchers to either provide new questions or to contribute themselves.

Roadmap

I applaud your mission to democratize access to research metadata insights, promote open science, and engage researchers in the process. This is a valuable initiative!

Hi Paul, your vision is really nice and I am looking forward to what you will be building

This project seems super helpful to researchers! I cannot wait to follow it and hopefully use it myself one day! Can I ask where you hope the project will be at the end of OLS?

Thanks a lot everyone!

We hope so to! At the end of OLS we would like researchers to be aware of our tools and our contribution workflow, have collected feedback and ideas to guide this project in the future. Sustainable deployment and a maintenance plan are additional, yet ambitious goals.
