What is the maintenance status of this API? #21

@natronics Seeing that nothing has happened here since Oct 2016, I am wondering if this API is still maintained?

There are a few bugs that need to be either attended to or at least explained so that we can work around them.

In addition, can someone please clarify how the data is obtained or calculated?

As he mentioned in http://open-notify.org/Open-Notify-API/People-In-Space/:

I gather and update this data personally as launches and landing occur. There is no official source of data for this kind of thing.
