Open jimmysjolund opened 5 years ago
I like the idea, @jimmysjolund. I can work with you in editing to ensure we frame the story squarely in the context of the overall book project. I think it's important for us to feature more stories from students' perspectives, and this seems like a great example of how anyone with fundamental understanding of the open organization principles can put them to work in a straightforward way to enhance an educational experience.
Are you still planning on submitting a draft of this chapter, @jimmysjolund?
Yes, do you need/want a first draft before the 12 of July?
Since 12 of July is the date for all final drafts to be submitted, all major writing and editing should be finished by then. So if you'd like any kind of editorial back-and-forth, I think it's best to share something before then (one of the reasons we made the deadline for first drafts 31 of May).
Since the deadline for finalized chapters is July 12 and we haven't worked our way through drafts of this one, let's plan on saving it for the first updated edition of the book.
Maybe this is not in line with the goal of the book, but I'll pitch a chapter on how I set up a community at a remote University course. While on site it's common people gather in study groups or in the library to share experiences, work on assignments, and discuss the topics in the last class or upcoming tests. While I studied a University course given online with no on site lectures or presence I still wanted to be able to discuss, collaborate, and learn from the others in the same class. How to do that when everyone is remote?
