I'm delighted to write you with this update on the progress of the Open Organization Workbook. Our project passed another major milestone last week, and we're now in "final freeze" (more on that below). Here are a few notes and requests as we work to polish what's shaping up to be a truly excellent and useful book.

"Final freeze" status indicates that all chapters returned to authors for revisions during our last sprint should now be polished, finalized, and back to me for final review and typesetting. Many of you have already met this goal (thank you!), and a few more are just waiting on final confirmation from me. To those in the latter group, let me say: I am very close to having final feedback prepared for you, and should have comments to you soon. (Last week, approximately 20 pieces hit my inbox, and I am still making my way through the last of the batch.)

If your chapter title is italicized on the working table of contents, then it's been typeset in the book's galley proofs. Please do take a look at it so you can help me fill in missing details from opening "fact boxes" and author bios. And hey, while you do that, why not give it one more read and send along your notes on pesky typos or other bugs that might have slipped through our quality checks? We'll be unleashing an army of proofreaders on the book soon; in the meantime, though, since no one knows your chapter like you do, no one is better suited at this very moment to take one final pass.

If you're composing an introduction to one of the book's five units, I also encourage you to view the galley proofs to get a sense of the material and determine whether you'd like to reference and/or incorporate that material into your opening remarks.

The Open Organization Workbook needs a subtitle. I'm compiling an ongoing list of suggestions in the project repository and welcome your input. Book cover design is currently under way, and designers will need a subtitle to typeset very soon. Jump in!
We're hurtling confidently toward an official December publication, and I believe this book is going to make quite a splash when it drops. Thanks for all you're doing to help us get there.
