Inconsistent use of terms to describe Lamina VII of T1 between different models. #31

Open dbrnz opened 1 year ago

This is described as either ILX:0738371 (Bolser-Lewis model) or UBERON:0016578, contained in UBERON:0006457 (other models).

tgbugs commented 1 year ago

Both are valid representations of the region. Bolser lewis follows an older modelling convention. The two representations are equivalent, though the modelling of the ILX term is incomplete so the equivalence is not visible.

@tgbugs are you saying that we need to allow for SCKAN having different terms meaning the same thing? Or will this be resolved within SCKAN so that it provides consistent terms across all models??

tgbugs commented 1 year ago

I think the hope is that transitioning to the whole body reference connectivity version of these models will resolve the issue of differences in modelling of housing lyphs. Support for different ways of saying things thus probably isn't necessary to implement right now, but in general these things can happen.

With regard to what to do, I think we wait until the wbkg version of these is done and see if it is still an issue.
