action_executor how to use it #5

I was wondering if theers is somewhere explaining how to use the action_executor. Do we have to define it elsewhere in the web API? Or what is it for exactly? Is it meant to execute actions like take picture, sensor reading, open abox, mecanise...etc? Any example would help a lot
