This point cloud format is widely used. Adding it in the list of import / export options would be nice.

LAS/LAZ is indeed a de-facto standard for assembled pointcloud data, so would be a welcome addition to OpenScanTools. Furthermore, considering COPC - which extends the LAS specification with a tiling structure, optimized for web/software viewing and processing - could be a very nice extension - COPC can be produced via pipelines like PDAL writers.copc. COPC is supported by an ever-growing oss software stack, qgis, potree, loadersgl, pdal & co.
