Right know the automated documentation is generated without any knowledge of the base URL (domain name + subfolders) that it is appearing on. This has been OK, because the documentation is very flat (few subfolders) and relative links have been OK. However a problem arises when the documentation is served in a subfolder: all the relative links to the data files become 404s. I think we need to go ahead and require a base URL, so we can stop using relative links.
