An improvement, but how about splitting the BUILDING and INSTALLATION part out of the README? That it, README, BUILDING and INSTALLING are three separate pages. README would link to building and installing like so:

With the aim of slimming down the README, and provide better overview? I can split it into more files, but I'm good with it either way.

Precisely. However, I'm good with this change and the split could potentially be another PR.
