Project description

This is an ongoing idea is not clear even for me, I just have it yesterday and wanted to share with you.

The idea is to try to build a Goverment and a Digital country, just to prove what can be done better and found solutions to real problems.

Lately I have been influenced by many politicals ideas and some are goods others not much and I was thinking if it is possible to build a collaborative world where the people need to mantain the system like it happened in real life.

Create a digital economy, elections, political debates, secret votes, each player will have its own ID like it happens in real life, each individual will collaborate with ideas, scientific investigation or even build cities, not something fancy.

Relevant Technology

Maybe can be develop a webapp using any framework that is available nowadays, nothing graphically at the begining, ideas are welcome.

Need a simulator engine, maybe java backoffice, as I said ideas are always welcome.

Who is this for

Everyone that would like to collaborate with ideas to build this digital country 😄. More specifically, a group of people that would like to integrate a team to build a simulator engine, and a webapp.

Want to check the impact of this idea in here, and create then the proper ways for communication and publicize the idea.

This sounds really fun! Sounds similar to an online version of Democracy 3.

The idea is to try to build a Goverment and a Digital country, just to prove what can be done better and found solutions to real problems.

IMHO

It cannot be used to solve real problems. Real problems are real, they have nothing common with these games.

For example such widespread problem as political corruption. You cannot reconstruct real corruption in the game because 1 real corruptioners don't play these games because playing games is unserious and real corruptioners are serious men with serious problems. 2 it is against interests of real corruptioners to play these games. 3 you cannot accurately reconstruct real-world mechanics in the game. So the methods solving the problem in the game may be completely nonapplicable to the real world.

IMHO this game would be is no more than a game. And such problems cannot be solved using a game.

I guess it would be more useful to create a yet another but more gamified competition for iterated games strategies, like iterated prisoner dilemma, like a mix of https://github.com/Axelrod-Python/Axelrod and FightCode : a website with leaderbords, automated tournaments, private bots and replays. Programmers create AIs, plug them to a site via API and see their places in the tournament.

Throw in a bit of Nomic and you might have something :-)
