Cancel future end-user discussion sessions for EMEA and AMER #2052

The End-User SIG has decided on 2024/04/11 (see notes) to cancel future end-user discussion sessions for EMEA and AMER.

This does not mean that end-users will have less of a voice. In fact, we want to amplify their voice, bridging the gap between maintainers and end-users, in the form of interviews or feedback sessions. We believe a more focused approach, discussing specific areas or components (e.g. Java instrumentation, Collector, Agent Management, etc) can provide better, actionable insights for maintainers, to inform their roadmap and priorities. These sessions also give end-users the opportunity of knowing what topics will be covered in advance, as opposed to ad-hoc discussions.

We want to remind end-users that the #otel-sig-end-user CNCF Slack channel is always there as a place where they can share learnings, challenges and other topics related to adopting OpenTelemetry within their environments.

Having said all this, we are aware that there are not many end-user sessions that are at an APAC-friendly time, and we know that the APAC monthly discussion group is well attended. For this reason, we believe it's the right approach to keep that group in place (unless hosts decided it's not useful) and work towards relaying those insights to maintainers in a different way.

As such, this issue requires the cancellation of future EMEA and AMER calendar invites.

Meetings cancelled. I've also sent a message to the Slack channel.

Quick note here regarding Zoom meetings. It seems that the End-User SIG Zoom meeting is the one being used for all discussion groups, so there's no Zoom meeting to cancel.

However, if the APAC meeting is still going ahead, we should probably create a new link.
