Do not merge: Need to investigate and clarify if changes in semantic conventions are intended (per semconv repo) or not.

Do not merge: Need to investigate and clarify if changes in semantic conventions are intended (per semconv repo) or not.

Changes in semantic conventions are a regression, fixed by #2640.

Waiting for #2640 to be merged before making a release.
