Liaising with the Alliance for Biodiversity Knowledge #147

Hello, all,

The greater biodiversity data community has had a bunch of meetings recently and another call-to-action paper has come out. It refers to a new community website and the discussion section has a thread for listing existing collaborations for supporting biodiversity data interoperability. Could be a place to introduce the trait registry, or to look for related initiatives.

I appreciate that the call-to-action paper referenced an article that discusses some interesting social/trust issues associated with a current "centralized and connected" approach: Nico M Franz, Beckett W Sterner; To increase trust, change the social design behind aggregated biodiversity data, Database, Volume 2018, 1 January 2018, bax100, https://doi.org/10.1093/database/bax100 .
