This doesn't actually effect building for dash since the PI4 definition isn't used anywhere but thought it would be nice to port the changes over and also included comments about what its doing so its easier to maintain.
(I can make a PR to include the comments in the openauto repo too, if that's wanted, or someone can just copy it over)
