it is distinguished between "Document Numbers", saying: "Document numbers and revisions are assigned according to the Nomenclature guidance and they are assigned to ensure that documents are readily identifiable." and "Version Numbers": "he/she [the product owner] will update the revision number on the document throughout the review process", it should be called "Version Number" not "Revision Number" however I could not find how the "Version Number" will be generated. My recommendation: Keep this as close to the Eclipse Process as possible. In Eclipse all artifacts in "incubation" do have a version number starting with a "0", like 0.5.2 . The Number after the first dot should be caused by a "Class 1 Change", that means that something which has an effect on the content of the document or function of a piece of software etc. has changed. Number after the second dot should change (and all other numbers before that dot should remain the same) if there is only an editorial change (no content just the wording).
