As a user of the toolchain (WP3 and WP4), I want to be notified when updates are available and install them with a single click.

If we want to do this, it would entail:

[ ] Deciding on the Update Site location
[ ] Installing the Update Site in the product definition
[ ] Document in the release process on how to update the update site.

This should eventually be transcribed in WP7 issues, if we decide to tackle this.

Update is really useful for user to quickly and easily obtain an updated version of the toolchain, with new embedded tools. I am in favour of the update site.

@cecilebraun - maybe it used to be in place, but when I just checked, openETCS did not find any new updates, so something is clearly broken.

For this to work, (1) the product must know about the update site, and (2) the new update artifacts must be copied to the update site. I suspect that (2) is broken.

This was not done on purpose. Probably happened when we had a closer look at waffle in project office. Sorry!

Not a problem - that why it's called playground (even though the information there currently has meaning).
