R114-R1 Fails to boot from SD card on Orange Pi 5 Plus #41

According to the documentation, an image with any target storage generated by the .run file should also boot from a MicroSD card.

It does not: at least for me.

Armbian boots fine from the same MicroSD card, so there's nothing wrong with the hardware. I have ordered an M.2 drive. When that arrives I can report back on wether it solves the issue or not.

It should be noted that I have a Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor (5120x1440@240Hz resolution), so it might be that the OS fails to set the display mode and gives up. The display works fine in Armbian, though, in both 5120x1440@60Hz and 2560x1440@120Hz, so the OPi is compatible with the monitor.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Run orangepi5-openfyde-r114_r1.run in Ubuntu 22.04 (WSL2)
  2. Select Orange Pi 5 Plus and M. 2 NVME or EMMC in the menu (I've tried both)
  3. Write resulting image to an SD card using Raspberry Pi Imager 1.7.5 in Windows 11
  4. Plug MicroSD into Orange Pi 5 Plus
  5. Power on system

Thanks to the team. I like Openfyde.

I have the same issue as @noname22 only i observed:

  1. System boots and goes into setup
  2. But when I get to select a drive, no drive shows up in the Box

When I go back into "try out", everything sets up as expected and works fine.
Only when I try to "install Openfyde", again no drive appears in the Box to chose from and I can only go back to "Try".
