There is no mention of tufted cells in the accessory olfactory bulb in https://doi.org/10.3389/fncir.2020.561822. I don't see a statement that says that they do not exist exist there, however there is a discussion that they do project to the AON.
Most publications about the AOB refer to "mitral/tufted cells". According to https://doi.org/10.1002/cne.903110106, these cells have their somata distributed throughout the external plexiform layer, "instead of forming a distinct layer similar to the mitral cell layer of the main olfactory bulb". This seems a bit at odds with the Interlex description.
(for the time being, we have no data from nor models of the AOB, only the main olfactory bulb, so we could punt on the AOB entries for now)
@lzehl we really have to push the issue with brain region + cell type! This will be crucial in this case and I'm sure it won't be the last time...

Hi,
Please could someone add the following cell types from the olfactory bulb?
and the same from the accessory olfactory bulb:
as well as olfactory receptor neuron (which projects to the olfactory bulb)
