good point, but actually they are directly on the yt homepage under "get it" - Get yt: from source: http://yt-project.org/#getyt
I would not add install instructions directly in the document but keep a link to the projects (and projects should advertize how to install them), otherwise it is going to be rather longish and always outdated quickly. be aware that yt is currently in the process of switching from mercurial (hg) to git (& github) :)
I would close this if that's ok and update that yt migrated to github
