Feedback is welcome, as I'm not sure how stable this approach is.

I think automatic rebuilds do not trigger a revision number change. I'm at a loss how to increase the number in that case, but at least this is an improvement to what we have now.

Even if automatic rebuilds do not trigger a revision number change, it would be nice to have this merged, any support is better than no support.
