Conter itself comes from https://counter.opensuse.org

counter-o-o repo seems to be not bumped any more (todo verify) and check task comments from 15.2

FYI: counter.o.o gets auto-deployed from https://github.com/openSUSE/countdown.o.o hourly, and - since rendering all the images takes a minute or two - you'll get updated counter pictures one or two minutes after the full hour.

For more technical details, have a look at our salt code ;-)

Looking at this again - the counter on the landing page is done with JS and is independent of counter.o.o. Please don't mix up these two ;-)
