Configure and use https://www.pingdom.com/ for software.o.o and export the results to status.o.o somehow. This require an account there, sync with @dmacvicar about it.

There was an outage today and @bear454 rightfully mentioned that status.o.o was incorrectly reporting that everything was fine. IIRC @dmacvicar has a pingdom setup already, what is missing to automatically update status.o.o ?
