--checkpatterns might be better suited to a test #74

Currently, --checkpatterns is implemented as an additional command line parameter but that does not make much sense: you have to manually enable it (because checking would otherwise take a little longer). It would be much better to see this covered automatically.

Done now, by running one testcase with flag_checkpattern enabled.
