.well-known could be used in addition to the dataset site to make it easy for a specific provider to advertise booking capabilities?

Additionally see https://openid.net/specs/openid-connect-discovery-1_0.html for an implementation of this using /.well-known and WebFinger.

Although this is a nice idea, it doesn't fit with the JSON-LD based approach to dataset discovery that is so far described and adopted.
