What kind of properties has the cfMetrics? Will it contain a link to the metrics provider or raw numbers/indicators? If the latter, how can such numbers/indicators be up to date?
Recording discussion: Since the usage metrics will keep on changing, we need to separate them from the metadata records (probably via a separate OAI-PMH set). The metrics have to have a last-update date/timestamp, possibly also an as-of date.
Recording discussion: Usage metrics are going to be tracked by other means and protocols. The number of attendees of an event is an interesting information to have on the metadata record though.
Will not go in the 1.1 release of the Guidelines.
It could be nice to introduce the cfMetrics in regards of two specific use cases: 1) the usage statistics for publications and dataset (this is something now addressed in the IRUS-UK project for repository http://www.irus.mimas.ac.uk/ ) 2) the number of attendee to event to give a measure of the project impact (thinking about project workshops)
